Sibor/Sor pegged home loan – how to track

Got this question from Mr Chin Teck and I wish to share:

Q: How do i track the sibor rate that the bank charge me on my home loan if i took up a home loan that is pegged to Sibor?

A: The banks will send you a letter to update you on the Sibor rate that your home loan is charged. If you took up a 3 months Sibor package, every 3 months, the bank will check the 3m Sibor rate and charge it to you. They will send a letter to you, updating you what the 3 months Sibor rate is.

For most bank, they uses the 1st day Sibor/SOR rate of that particular month.
However, there are some bank that uses the date of the Sibor/SOR when the fund is 1st disbursed.

To check historical Sibor/SOR rates, you can always click this website – Sibor rate

Hope its useful
